2月26日，位于南加州洛杉矶康普顿市内发生火灾，大火迅速蔓延至附近一处公交车停车场内，并烧毁数十辆公共汽车。
洛杉矶当地消防局于2月26日5时左右接到报警称，位于洛杉矶以西的康普顿市的一处工业区建筑发生严重火灾，大火迅速蔓延至隔壁的一处公共汽车停放区内，当消防人员赶到现场后，发现大火已经吞啜了数十辆车辆，并燃放大量含有化学物质的黑烟，警方随即疏散附近居民。
据当地民众表示，当时燃烧的黑烟犹如龙卷风，数十公里外仍旧清晰可见。消防部门在经过数小时扑救后，火势基本被有效控制，并停止蔓延趋势。据消防部门透露，目前大火并为造成任何人员伤亡，而起火原因也正在调查当中。
