According to data released by the Australian Department of Employment and Labor Relations (DEEWR) on Wednesday, the monthly rate of vacancies for skilled workers in Australia's DEEWR in December 2013 decreased by 12% after a seasonal adjustment, and the previous value increased by 1.2%.
In the past year, the index of 8 out of 7 occupations decreased. Among them, labor (a sharp decrease of 19.2%) recorded the largest decrease, and the index of sales personnel increased by 0.1%. With the exception of Tasmania (up 0.9%), all states/territories saw a decline in the DEEWR skilled worker job vacancy index, with the Northern Territory experiencing the biggest drop-33.2%.
