Sydney Today, April 4, Australia Eastern Time In the top 15 list of Sydney house prices, the price of waterfront villas is usually the highest, but this year there are exceptions. In the past 20 months, a non-waterfront villa in Vaucluse won the crown and became the most expensive house in Sydney.
Another waterfront villa in Mosman is the third highest house in Sydney, with a house price of $1.9 million. The house was named Kahala and was sold by popular real estate developer Albert Bertini through Raine & Horne Mosman's Brendan Warner. Albert Bertini mercilessly bought it for A$4 million four years ago, making it the most expensive house in Mosman at the time. Kahala was bought by Ros Oatley (from the Oatley winery family), who lives in Rivendel next door, where he bought a 2.25 square meter villa with a tennis court for A$2001 million in 1.55.
In the top 20 list of house prices, Mosman has three other houses on the list, including the luxury non-commercial property that was sold by Hutchison Telecoms vice president Barry Roberts-Thomson and his wife Victoria for A$1.8 million last month. Waterfront villa Mandolong House.
Mandolong House, the fourth-highest house price, was bought by Markus Kahlbetzer, son of billionaire John Dieter Kahlbetzer, who founded Twynam Agricultural Group in the 20s.
Also in Mosman, Chairman Patrick Allaway of Saltbush Capital Markets and his wife Libby sold their 1680-square-meter house on Kirkoswald Avenue with a view of Middle Harbour for A$1.4 million. The deal was completed 12 months ago, but the price has not yet been determined.
Another Mosman house on the list is a building designed by Alex Popov (with a tennis room and swimming pool), which was sold by Randolf Clinton, a benchmark figure in the Australian market and stocks of the Royal Bank of Scotland, for A$1 million. It was given to David Turner, the CEO of Commonwealth Bank, and his wife Julia. The deal was negotiated by LJ Hooker Mosman's agent Geoff Smith and Richard Harding in June last year.
