Laughed! The Australian government simplifies the immigration system to recognize TOEFL English scores in November
The Australian Government of Tony Abbott intends to simplify the immigration system. Those applying for a visa to Australia will have more choices in the English proficiency test they take.
Starting from November this year, the Immigration Department will not only recognize IELTS (IELTS) and Occupational English Test (OET), but also accept applicants' TOEFL (TOEFL) and Pearson (PTE) scores.
Immigration and Border Protection Assistant Minister Michaela Cash said that applicants who need to provide English test scores to the Immigration Department to prove their English proficiency will be able to choose two additional tests.
It is reported that the current English tests recognized by the Australian Department of Immigration are IELTS (IELTS) and Occupational English Test (OET), but since November this year, it has increased the acceptance of TOEFL (TOEFL) and Pearson (PTE) scores.
This policy applies to temporary graduate visas, skilled immigrant visas, working holiday visas and Australian indigenous resident visas.
Kath said that the increase in the approved English test categories will provide visa applicants with more choices.
This policy change is also consistent with the Ministry of Immigration’s desire to increase the competitiveness of the visa application English proficiency test market.
