"Chinatown"-Official media of Chinese Australians
In Australia, when a child is born, the hospital will give you a set of application forms; there is a hospital’s signature at the back of the form to prove the birth of the baby.
The latest 2015 benefits related to this set of forms:
Child Care Benefit:
Used to pay for childcare (in other words, the money can't get into your hands):
- Family with one child: You can apply for this benefit when the family's annual income is less than $101,872;
- Family with two children: This benefit can be applied when the family's annual income is less than $109,427;
- For families with three children or more: starting from the family's annual income of $133,590, each child will increase by $20,221.

It is effective for families with children. - Children aged 0-12: $179.76/2 weeks;
- Children 13-19 years old: $233.94/2 weeks.

For families with only one source of income. The annual salary of the main income party cannot be higher than $100,000/year, and the other party can get the full amount when the income is less than $5402/year; thereafter, it will decrease with the increase of income (for every $1 increase in income, the subsidy will decrease by 20 cents). The specific amount varies with the age of the child:
- Children aged 0-5: $152.88/2 weeks;
- Children 5-18 years old: $106.82/2 weeks.
