An Australian man was charged with 217 counts of sexual assault on women, children, and even golden retrievers.

According to reports, the man from Bangalow will face 217 charges for carrying out "terrorist attacks" on women (including a disabled woman) and children in the north of NSW for eight years.

According to court documents, Sellenthin often followed and sexually suggested the same victim, and had sex with two different dogs 14 times.

His legal aid lawyer Rachel Thomas postponed his case to next month and hoped that her client would not appear in court.

His case will be retrial in Tweed Heads District Court on April 4.
