Two men trapped in a fire in a Melbourne home in the early morning
According to the Herald Sun, a fire broke out in a house on Eckersley Street in Melbourne's Blackburn South district on October 10.
The Victorian Fire and Rescue Bureau received the report at about 4 in the morning. Firefighters rushed to the scene within 5 minutes and found that 60% of the roof of the burning house was caught in the fire. Two men were trapped inside the house and the firefighters rushed into the fire. People rescued.
According to a spokesperson for the Victorian Ambulance Association, of the two injured, a man in his 50s was rushed to Alfred Hospital due to severe burns and smoke inhalation. He is currently in stable condition; the other man in his 80s is also in a stable condition. He was treated in the same hospital for inhaling heavy smoke.
The fire was brought under control within 35 minutes, and fire investigators are currently investigating the incident.
