The statement said that the British Communications Authority today revoked CGTN's broadcasting license in the United Kingdom because it discovered that the license was incorrectly held by Star China Media Limited.

The British Communications Authority stated that its investigation concluded that China Star Media Group, the licensee of CGTN services, has no editorial responsibility for the content of CGTN output.Therefore, China Star Media Group does not meet the relevant legal requirements of the United Kingdom, and therefore is not a legal broadcast license holder.
