58 countries sign declaration calling for cessation of arbitrary detention of foreigners

Canadian Foreign Minister Marc Garneau stated that “it is neither legal nor ethical to separate people from their families and use them as bargaining chips.”

（德国之声中文网）据路透社报道，58个国家的外长共同签署了一份不具约束力的宣言。这份宣言谴责那些被加拿大外长马克·加诺(Marc Garneau)称为不可接受的行为做法。

 Gano said on the phone, "It is neither legal nor ethical to separate people from their families and use them as bargaining chips."He also said that this is the first attempt and effort to sign a joint declaration.

签署这项宣言的国家除了加拿大还包括美国、日本、英国、澳大利亚和欧盟几乎所有成员国。

加拿大外长加诺表示，这一声明不针对任何国家。签署宣言的目的只是为了向那些拘留外国人的国家以及有可能实施这种做法的国家施加更多的外交压力。
